Wonderful composition. Love the way the cloth clings to the shape of the model's leading leg. Great colour against the paleness of the sea and sky. The lighting picks out the fantastic physique and musculature of the model.
(I remember Lanzarote - it was very very windy... all of the time...)
I don't understand how "nudity" falls into the mature content category. In my opinion, being naked is one of the most natural things. It's nothing violant or traumatizing. There are much worse things not marked as mature content on Deviantart. And no one complains.
You don't seem to understand what I mean. It's only a cultural and religious thing, in some arabic countries women aren't even allowed to show their face in public and in other parts of our world people generally walk around naked, most indigenous people do. But everywhere there are certain rules to follow in respect of other people. I didn't say anything about walking on the streets naked and provocatively showing off your penis. That's just silly and vulgar, and sexual assault.
Well, there are many many children that have the ability to surf the internet these days. Parents to a majority of those children choose to filter certain things including any version of nudity out there (out of protection/guidance). I would agree with you on how natural it is, but man perverts pretty much every thing we create, manipulate, or take. That's why we can typically show someone's butt and get away with it, but nothing in the genital area, or exposing the areolas of a womans chest. It is deemed sexual at that point. On one hand I appreciate the natural beauty the human body can express, but on the other, I believe that some of that "protection" is necessary.
Have you seen some of the fetish art on Deviantart? I think those should really go into mature content. Because I think some of them are really ... sick. No offense here.
I agree with you in most points, I think there's nothing wrong with showing a woman's breast, but some things are just downright tasteless or not meant for children's eyes. Like anoerexic models or something like that. It's important that kids don't get the wrong perception of the human body.
I have seen some of that stuff put into the incorrect areas, or without the proper labelling. That's why we have some of the wonderful volunteers like Mrs-Durden though. I believe that she specifically checks and corrects arstistic nudes on the site, and there are different volunteers that do similar work with their other submission types.
Fetish art are automatically put under the mature content here on DA. "All deviations submitted to these categories are automatically tagged as Mature Content and can not be untagged as to prevent minors from viewing mature content."
Fetish is a sub-category of People and Portraits, please report fetish submissions that are not under mature content as that's a violation of our rules . It might be that they submitted their art as a different category, thus not automatically becoming labeled as mature content.
